Help

Everything you need to know to get the most out of Nudgr Todo.

Capture syntax

When you type a task, Nudgr automatically detects smart tags and dates. Just type naturally — no menus needed.

@area

Area of responsibility — a role or part of your life.

Buy milk @home
#context

Context — where or how you do it.

Call dentist #phone
+project

Draft intro +thesis
>date

Start date — schedule when the task appears.

Submit report >friday
>>date

Due date — set a deadline for the task.

Submit report >>friday

Date formats

Use any of these formats after > (start date) or >> (due date).

>todayStart date: today
>tomorrowStart date: tomorrow
>monday … >sundayStart date: next weekday
>2026-03-15Start date: specific date
>>tomorrowDue date: tomorrow
>>fridayDue date: next Friday

You can combine both in one task: Write report >monday >>friday — starts Monday, due Friday.

Task states

Every task in Nudgr lives in one of three states.

NextTasks you intend to do soon. Your active list.
SomedayTasks for later — out of sight, not out of mind.
DoneCompleted tasks. Check your progress anytime.

Focus

Focus is not a state — it's a flag. Star any Next task to surface it at the top of your list. We recommend keeping your focused tasks to 5 or fewer.

Due dates

Tasks can have an optional due date — a deadline for when the work must be done.

Due dates on recurring rules

For recurring tasks, the recurrence pattern determines the due date. You can optionally set a lead time — how many days before the due date the task should appear.

Reviews

Nudgr offers two review flows to help you stay on top of your tasks.

Focus review — "What do I focus on today?" Shows all your focused tasks and all Next tasks in one view.

Someday review — "Is this still relevant?" Shows all your someday tasks. Swipe right to promote, left to delete.

In Settings → Reviews you can schedule reminders for each review:
